GERMAN TRAINER Original Model: From the 1950s to the 1990s, Eastern Europe (mainly Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Bosnia) had numerous large shoe manufacturing factories and was known for producing high-quality military footwear. The German army commissioned the manufacture of German Trainers for its soldiers through a bidding process at shoe factories across Europe, and soldiers used the issued German Trainers as training shoes. German Trainers appear to have been made in shoe factories across Europe, including Slovakia, Poland, Bosnia, and Portugal, but all equipment was discarded after production ceased, so only recent models remain, and the details of German Trainers manufactured in the past remain a mystery.
