"AKOM" was established in the mid-1940s in New York, USA, as "ASSOCIATED KNITTED OUTERWEAR MILLS, INC." The company's initials gave birth to "AKOM" KNITWEAR. At the time, they added design elements to functional sportswear like sweats and parkas, which had innovative designs, establishing them as acceptable street wear. Despite existing for only about 20 years until the late 1960s, many of their masterpieces, which were the result of their unique pursuit of functionality and design, still receive high praise and strong popularity in the vintage market today.
This collaboration with the brand uses a pattern from a 1950s freedom-sleeve body.

The length and sleeve length are slightly extended compared to vintage items.
This is a reproduction of a vintage AKOM freedom sleeve sweatshirt. It is a mid-weight 10.7 oz fabric, sulfur-dyed to allow for an enjoyable aging process.
It is knitted on a rare 1970s seamless old-style small-gauge knitting machine, and brushed first with a special brushing machine without opening the seamless body. The XL size uses a custom knitting machine to create a big size that was not available in vintage. Furthermore, it is finished with a very pleasant texture by taking time to bleach and wash it at high temperatures with an old-style winch machine, and then drying it with a large tumbler.
