WOLFMAN BARBER SHOP × WEIRDO Collaboration Project

"WOLFMAN BARBER SHOP," a leader in Japan's barber culture, and "WEIRDO," a brand that exudes unique individuality based on culture and playfulness, have launched a collaborative project!

 

 

 

 

The first release will be T-shirts, a specialty of the brand.

They will be available starting Saturday, September 9th, at "WOLFMAN BARBER SHOP" and "WEIRDO" retailers.

The graphic features artwork created by artist L. for WOLFMAN's new "WOLFMAN BARBER SHOP JINGUMAE+" store, which opened in Harajuku in 2023, inspired by velvet painting.

 

Velvet painting is a style of painting done on velvet fabric that gained popularity in America in the 1970s, depicting pop culture and art icons such as Snoopy and Elvis.
Even today, it is beloved by many collectors as a form of folk art and kitsch.

The T-shirt pop-artfully depicts a rogue wolf in a zoot suit, as seen in the artwork, trying to pick up a woman.

 

 

 

 

 

To express the world of the art piece, the outline is reproduced with classic flock printing.

It is finished with a substantial vintage rubber print that leverages the hand-drawn touch.

 

 

The back features a single accent of a wolf arriving at a nightclub in a luxury car, and a special double-name tag symbolizing the collaboration.

 

 

 

  

 

The second round will feature special items filled with dedication and playfulness...
